Sustainable organic technology transfer

You know, there is no technology that is not being used in Africa today. But those frameworks are not designed to transfer the technology. We have had trains for more than 50, 60 years. But there is no African nation that understands how to make trains. We have been using electric bulbs for decades, but we only know how to make it in a very profitable manner at the commercial level. We have been using nearly any technology you can think of. We import them, we use them, we love technology just like every other part of the world. But the difference is that there is a disconnect between usage, distribution and sales, and design. And you can only talk about design when you go through the most important block of any society: the university.
I tell you something: The greatness of a nation is dependent on the quality of its educational system. And if you go through humanity, you discover that in the time of the pharaos, the best education was in Egypt. It moved through the time of the Greeks, they had the best education. You move through even the Industrial Revolution: Oxford, Cambridge, they were elite universities on Earth. You know, that was a time when the brightest of the British were stored in science and technology. But the time came, in the House of Lords and the House of Parliament, people began to go into law, people began to go in to logic. The brightest kids in England were not going into science, they were going into law. And that was the time they could not sustain the Industrial Revolution.
And America now came with an alternative: "Let's make all our best go into science", and America now leads the world. And if you look at what is happening, the problem we have in the United States is basically because some of the kids are going into law, and many of their leaders are lawyers. And in China, the reverse is the case. So one good thing, if Africa wants to solve its problem, it has to improve its technological education. For me, that is the only solution. We can build a sustainable, enduring, technology transfer within the African continent.
